Sébastien Leclerc, fue un prolifico y extraordinario grabador a buril, ilustrador e ingeniero militar francés, se le conocen mas de cuatro mil obras, se dedico a reproducir paisajes y escenas religiosas de la vida de Cristo, reprodujo diferentes obras de artistas del renacimiento y las adapto con maestría a los gustos de la Francia del Siglo XVII, en especial replico con acierto la obra de Jean Le Cousin le jeune ( 1522 - 1592 ) distintas ediciones de la biblia y del nuevo testamento ilustrados por Sebastién Leclerc se sucedieron durante todo el Siglo XVII y XVIII, a su vez  ilustro y publico distintos tratados de arquitectura y geometría, a partir de 1691 empezó  a recibir encargos reales, fue miembro de la Real Academia de pintura y escultura, el Cardenal Gualterio ( 1660 - 1728 ), nuncio papal en Francia entre 1700 y 1706  lo nombro Caballero Romano a instancias del Papa Clemente XI.

Sébastien Leclerc, was a prolific and extraordinary French engraver, illustrator and military engineer, mote than four thousand works are known to him, he was dedicated to reproduce landscapes and religious scenes of the life of Christ, he reproduced different works of artist of the Renaissance and adapted them with mastery to the tastes of the France of the XVII century, in particular he replicated with success the work of Jean Le Cousin " Le Jeune "  ( 1522 - 1592 ), different editions of the Bible and the New Testament illustrated by Sebastien Leclerc followed one another during the entire 17th and 18th century, and he also illustrated and publisher different treatises on architecture and geometry, from 1691 he began to receive Royal commisions, he was a member of The Royal Academy of painting and sculpture, the Cardinal Gualterio ( 1660 - 1728 ), Papal nuncio in France between 1700 and 1706 named him a Roman Knight at the request of Pope Clement XI.
